About Rishika

I have tutored for about 2 years, teaching most types of high school math levels. The students I tutored ranged from freshmen to seniors. I am very passionate about ensuring that everyone can succeed in what they want to learn and better themselves at. In order to make sure that students are grasping the concepts, I try to go out of my way and tailor the material to their understanding. I recognize that everyone has a different learning style and it is crucial to understand that early so that the students graps the concepts well.

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing each individual's success. It does not matter how long it took them to master the concept, but I feel that it is important to acknowledge the student's efforts in order to help with their growth and understanding. One of the most interesting parts about this job is the creativity that it involved in customizing the material in a way that fits to each tutee's understanding. This helps both me and my tutee to think out of the box to understand the material and how to apply it in different ways.

I started tutoring my peers in high school as a volunteer experience. However, I immediately loved teaching students and wanted to continue this as a job.

I am currently in college and have completed math up to Calculus 2. I have tutored for about 2 years where I worked with high school students in most subjects ranging from pre-algebra to some calculus concepts.

About the lesson

I like to ask them what their learning style is in order to get a better understanding of how to make the material fit for them and grasp a better sense of how they can learn the material more efficiently and effectively. Usually, I start off with an icebreaker to release any tension and then once things are comfortable we immediatly work on tackling any problems or doubts that the student has.

I have worked with students in high school ranging from freshmen to seniors with most types of math levels.

Try to hire someone who will be creative in their lessons and will adjust to your understanding because a lot of people only think their is a specific or set way to teach, when in reality there are multiple formulas for success.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Try to focus on what you do not understand. Once you identify that, try to ask yourself why you are not understanding it. Does the concept not make sense? Do you need more practice on it? Questions like these will help you and your teacher to understand your doubts.
