About Brittney

I have been training to be a teacher since 2017 and have worked in many classrooms in the k12 setting. My goal is to make learning math simple and fun for the student. I do everything I can to adapt to the students learning style. I can use different methods of teaching to help your student learn in the way that best fits their needs, whether that be interactive online learning platforms, musical learning, interactive check-in's during a lesson, or even creating visual real world examples.

Mathematics can be either the most liked or most disliked subject in school. I bhave learned that every students brain works differently, the difference between those who like math and those who don't might just be that those who dislike the subject just dont understand the subject. I don't want to show students how to memorize equations, I want to inspire them to think differently when a mathematical question or equation stumps them. I personally enjoy teaching and helping students, the best feeling is when you can see your student piece together the problem to find the solution.

I have always had a passion for learning, to the point that I was asking my older brother if his teachers would give him some extra homework so that I could do some and learn it too. I began my teaching journey in 2017 where I started taking college courses on teaching. Since then I have volunteered and worked in elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools aiding teachers and tutoring students when needed. I also have created and taught lessons to entire classrooms of students.

I have my associates degree in Secondary Mathmeatics education and have completeled 3/4 years of the bachlor program as well. I have worked in many classrooms for many years as a volunteer or as a college student teacher at both the elementary and middle/high school level. I continue to teach and work with kids through my fieldwork with Occupational Therapists in pediatric facilities.

About the lesson

I like to spend the first session getting to know the students and going over what the student does or doesnt understand, and assessing the best way to tutor the student. My main focus is insuring the student understands the content, this may take some time at the begining as each student learns differently.

I have worked with a wide range of students, some with learning disabilities, some without, and I have even created lessons and tutored for a visionless student. I have worked with students with autism, ADHD, and various learning disabilities.

Don't be afriad to ask questions, everyone has them and asking them will ensure that you will understand the conent and that you are ready to move on to the next lesson.

Take your time in finding a tutor, your learning should be just as important to your tutor as it is to you.

Keep an open mind and be willing to put in the work. Learning isnt something that comes over night, its practice and concentration. When you put in your best effort is when you will see the most progress.
