About Wesley
From my time in Boy Scouts, I discovered I had a passion for teaching others. I use to love teaching the younger ones how to tie knots or how to properly build and light a fire. So when I was in high school, I decided to tutor elementary and middle school students at my local K-8. I didn't see tutoring as work; I saw it as a fun and productive way to make a new friend.
In high school, I tutored students at my local elementary and middle school, specifically on algebra and English.
As an undergraduate student at UCLA, I will continue my love for teaching by becoming an Undergraduate Assistant (very similar to Teacher's Assistant) for the general chemistry courses this upcoming school year.

I usually begin working with new students by first spending the first few minutes getting to know each other. Then I start figuring out the best way for me to help them reach success in their classes. For example, depending on the student, I might prepare more practice questions to reinforce what he learned in class or I might have my student tackle only one question and have him explain to me his thought process to ensure he understands the material. Each student is different, so I will need to adapt my teaching skills to best benefit the student.
