About Jennifer
As a high school French teacher for the past three years, I have experience in teaching and tutoring students in French in speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. I have a Master's in Teaching from Western Washington University as well as a Bachelor's degree in French from Portland State University. As a native English speaker, I know from firsthand experience what it is like to learn to understand and speak French, so I can provide learners of all levels with support and advice to reach whatever their language-learning goals might be. I also have experience both living and working in France, so I can provide cultural knowledge as well as language instruction. I enjoy working one-on-one with students and customizing your language learning to fit your interests!
Bachelor's degree in French, Minor in English
I have completed an internship at a French/English bilingual elementary school. I have also tutored college-level students.

Generally, I like to figure out where the student is at, and where they would like to get to within the target subject. Then we create a plan that moves at a pace that the student can handle, adapting as necessary as we go along. The student dictates the needs of the program of study.
Elementary, High School, and College-level students
Make sure they know not only the language that you are trying to learn, but your own language as well! Knowing the subtilties of both languages is very important in order to effetively communicate, and for you to effectively learn your new language.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do you already know? What do you want to learn/where are you trying to get to? What things do you struggle with in english (grammar, reading/writing, pronunciation, etc). These are things that may be difficult for you in a second language as well - and therefore may require a different approach.
