About Rachel

I act out of altruism. Helping others is something that helps me in return, whether it be emotionoal or feeling accomplished. I am not the smartest person - nor the dumbest, so I will make mistakes, but I promise on one thing: your kid will grow in math through me.

I am going to be a junior in high school this coming fall, so I feel the most confident in helping others in basic math & Algebra.

I have been an art TA at my local language school for 3 years now. I work with kids around the 3rd grade in the art class and I constantly learn how to act and help them with their projects. A good amount is me showing what to do, them copying what I did, and learning along the way until they can do it all on their own - kind of like riding a bike.

I am a high schooler as of the moment. I will reach my 3rd year in a few months. I love helping out on the weekends with the kids in the art class. If I can help teach art, I will apply those tactics to math.

I have been a teacher assistant for 3 years at my local language school. It was not necessarily for acedemics, but working with them on art is no different to me than helping other kids with math problems.

About the lesson

We will chat through call or text to set up a time and place. I'll ask about any homework or miscellaneous items that they wish to figure out or if they want to review a chapter that they are/will study(ing).

1st - 4th graders. Elementary students in general, though I have worked with a few in the 6th - 8th grade.

Make sure you feel like you can be comfortable with them. If you do not feel safe with that person through any logical means, stop after the 1st session. Feeling safe is the #1 priority, and the key to receiving great tips and advice on your area of struggle.

I had just won two 2nd place awards in an art competition. I was also able to have a relaxing day studying and clearing my head of stress.
