About Roberto

I have tutored for the better part of 15 years at all levels of middle-school through high school math (pre algebra through Calculus) and science (chemistry and physics).

My knowledge base stems from two sources: PhD in Chemical Engineering and 25+ years of technical industrial experience in high tech, solar, automotive, and health care industries.

My professional profile can be seen at: (concealed information)

I enjoy developing an understanding of the material in the students. This inevitably leads to improved grades and self esteem.

I began teaching organically in industry, mostly for junior engineers. Over the last 7 years, I have been working through tutoring agencies and teaching through a local school. I currently focus on tutoring because of my interest in helping students individually.

I have strong academic training (4 engineering degrees in 3 majors) and more than 25 years of industrial technical experience. I have been tutoring and teaching math and science classes since 2014. Industrially, I have trained junior engineers over the last 20 years.

About the lesson

When meeting a new student, I focus on understanding the student's level of understanding and learning style. I then adjust my teaching style to meet both needs (student's proficiency and learning style).

I have worked with students in middle school, high school, and college. The topics covered are Chemistry/Physics, Math (from Pre Algebra through Calculus BC), Stats, and SAT Math preparation. Being bilingual, I can support students in Spanish as well.

I recommend you look for a teacher or tutor that will match your learning style and has the schedule flexibility to meet your needs. Given the times, I also recommend that a teacher or tutor provides offline (beyond tutoring sessions) support since learning is a continuous process.

A teacher that has industry experience (along with the educational background) will be able to provide real-life examples that bring the concepts to life.

My child has taken Mr. Vidal's tutoring class for a few years. Mr. Vidal is very knowledgeable in areas of AP calculus AB/BC, physics and Chemistry, etc.
He is always very kind and patient in accommodating my child's specific needs and inspiring her to excel. He is willing to take extra time to meet and discuss the needs, to understand the child, and then come up with a concrete plan to help the student, which is very comprehensive and it is far beyond my expectation.
My child is currently taking AP Chemistry tutoring class from Mr. Vidal. I am confident that with Mr. Vidal's tutoring, my child is able to succeed in this very challenging class.
If you are looking for a high school tutor for the challenging AP classes, or advanced classes in areas of math, physics or chemistry, please contact Mr. Vidal and you will be so happy that you choose him!

Our family was so lucky to have him tutor each of our high schoolers. He is knowledgeable, patient, enthusiastic, and sparks both curiosity and understanding with math and science.
