About Alice Yang
I am a Texas Middle School Math / Algebra 1 teacher and have been for the past 8 years. That means I am a certified Math teacher from EC to 12th grade.
Every year 1/3 of my Algebra students get perfect scores on the State EOC STAAR test and all students get Level III commended. Very few teachers in this state can make that claim. My students always achieve very good results on the state tests.
To further support my claims, I have recommendation letters from the Principals I work for and lots of lovely photos of me with my students over the years. I’m more than happy to provide any information needed for us to work together.
I graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering and then went to a program called “Transition to Teaching”. I love being a teacher because I had teachers that really believed in me when I was a kid and gave me that extra push. I believe all kids should have that.
I have a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and I have been teaching for almost 10 years. I am certified in EC-12 Math.

I will get to know the students first. Use a survey to know more about the student. What he/she likes, what kind of teaching style benefits him/her the best, what areas he/she needs help the most, etc. then I will use some examples to help him/her get started, after I make sure he/she understands, I will check for understanding by letting him/her work on their own for some practice and I will check his/her answers to ensure he/she understands.
I have worked with Elementary, Middle and high school students. Therefore I am familiar with students with all ages.
Look for a teacher that is certified in the content area and familiar with the objectives in the test prep.

Perfect! My daughter had several challenges in her Algebra II class, but Alice worked with my daughter's learning style to make the lessons understandable and fun, Alice is very patient and has a great positive attitude. My daughter passed her class with the help of Alice. We highly recommend her.
