About Sally
I take pride in my ability to connect with my students through humor, patience, and catering to their specific needs as individual learners. Through one-on-one tutoring sessions, I can adjust the pacing to match each student's needs, accommodate for learning differences like ADHD and anxiety, and work through problems that challenge each student specifically.
I love math and I like working with people. Tutoring is a great combination of those two things! Nothing is as rewarding as hearing that a student's grades are increasing, that their parents are proud of their progress, or that they are feeling more confident in their math course. I am proud when I can make a difference for someone, even if it's small. Math is not everyone's cup of tea, so I try to help students reduce any anxiety, self-doubt, or frustration that they associate with math.

I like to get an idea of what the student is looking for in tutoring and briefly set some long-term goals together. I find that every student has unique learning styles and needs, so I always designate some time in the first session to discuss the student's academic history, their perceived strengths and weaknesses, any relevant learning differences, and an overview of subjects and/or hobbies that they enjoy. This allows me to adjust my tutoring style to best accommodate each student as I get to know them.
