About Arianna

I am a very experienced tutor and have been tutoring for the past 5 years. I have experience tutoring elementary students through pre-calculus and always tailor my tutoring to the needs of the student. My priority is to ensure the student understands the concepts and feels confident in their problem-solving abilities. I believe a huge part of understanding the content is asking questions so I always encourage my students to ask questions and periodically test their knowledge to reinforce the concepts at hand!

I am a very dedicated tutor and I love seeing my students grow and gain confidence. Since youth, my favorite subject has always been math so I always make sure my passion for the subject comes through when I'm teaching. As an undergraduate student at the University of Southern California I was an online math tutor for high school students. The support and encouragement I provided these students weekly inevitably allowed them to succeed in their classes and attain better grades and test scores.

I began tutoring at the age of 14 and was personally chosen to be a math tutor by math teacher for students who were struggling in high school. I have always enjoyed being a tutor so I became involved with a tutoring organization in college (USC) as a way to give back to the surrounding Los Angeles community. To me it is incredibly important that any teacher/tutor teaches with the student's learning style in mind so I always make sure the teach with compassion.

About the lesson

I start by asking what area/skill the student is trying to improve on. I strongly believe that understanding math/the material at hand is affected by organization. For these reasons, I start by making sure the student is organized and creating formula sheets so studying is easier for the student.

My first tutoring job was with elementary students but I progressed to teaching high school students in math up to pre-calculus and trigonometry.

Details

My standard rate is $20 per hour but if more complex concepts need to be taught (ex. Algebra 2 and pre-calculus) I charge $25 per hour.
