About Crystal
I originally received a business degree, but always was drawn to working with students. So in 1997 I started working as a teachers aide and at that time I was asked to tutor a student who was in 6th grade, but only reading at a 2nd grade level. After discovering her issues, but drawing on her interests we built a good foundation. She went on to graduate top of her class as a cardiology registered nurse. I stayed with her through high school for study skills. Since then I have done all subjects Pre-K through 8th grade, but did to high school credit recovery and study skills and support. I have always tutored year round, for support of the student. I am branching out to the internet to broaden my successes with students.

I like to get to know my students and build all their strengths. Students who struggle with reading, usually is because they did not get a good foundation. We will work to build the skills they have and then move forward. I have tutored privately since 1997, with grades preK to 8th grade. I like to tutor by making it fun, playing games, reading to the student, depending on the need. Speak clearly and limit distractions.
