About Kathryn
Hi! My name is Kathryn. I have a B.A. in English with a minor in education from Rhodes College and a Master’s degree in social work from UTA. I have taught 3rd, 5th, and 7th grades and have always tutored students of all ages. I love helping students achieve their goals and strengthen their academic skills. In tutoring sessions I focus on empathy, patience, and determining how to best present the material for the student to integrate it.
Additionally, I have worked extensively with students who have learning differences, including ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia - I know firsthand the challenges any learning difference can pose, but I also know a learning difference really means finding a new way to present the material. No two students learn alike, and that is a great thing! I will always advocate for my students and the parents and am happy to modify my methods to best suit each family’s needs.
