About Emily
Hello, my name is Emily Baker. I am a trainer who just moved from Tucson to Prescott to help expand Foothills Ranch's services.
Teaching children and adults how to care for, handle, and ride horses is my passion and am very excited to be accepting new clients.
I offer beginner-intermediate riding lessons in English huntseat/hacking and in western pleasure and trail.
At Foothills Ranch we offer a full service instruction program, that program including our horses being offered for use for lessons and if part of a lesson program, use of our horses for events, shows, etc. Our program also includes full instruction of proper horse care, handling, and riding for a well rounded education and understanding of horses in addition to getting to gain endless fun and exciting memory's. "No time is wasted that is spent the saddle".
I have a bachelors of science including equine science and early childhood education.
12 years experience with horses and livestock.
5 years experience in professional riding insurction.

About the lesson

Each new student will learn how to properly and safely handle horses, grooming, tack up, and ride fallowed by "after care", how we untack and care for our horses after each ride. At the conclusion of each lesson students will also get to learn how to properly care for horses.
I have experience working with students ages ranging from 5-76 with ranging horse experience from no experience to experienced.
Research instuctors with experience teaching the style of riding you are interested in leaning, who has instructed students of similar age and experience to yourself successfully.
Make sure you are comfortable with your instructor and don't be afraid to address concerns/questions with them, make sure all your questions/concerns are answered in an educated and professional manner.
