About Satin
I want to get to know my students to try to make what I teach more relatable to what they are interested in. I have been teaching for 3 years and working with students of various ages for 7 years. I am honest about my struggles when I went through school and when I don't know something. I believe you never stop learning and my students teach me every day I work with them!
I enjoy learning new things, seeing the excitement students have, and the light bulb moments when they get something that might have been a struggle. I enjoy building relationships with my students and creating a community of learners.
I worked for a before and after school enrichment program after I got my psychology degree. I feel in love with being in the school and seeing the growth and excitement the students had while learning. I decided to go back to school to get my education degree.
I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education with endorsements in Reading k-8 and Unified Early Childhood. I taught and been a tutor after school for 3 years.

I try to build a relationship by getting to know their interest, likes and dislikes, what they struggle with, etc. I try to use plenty of real-world examples and bring in items they like.
I have worked with students from 3 to 12-year old. I currently teach 2nd graders.
Look for a teacher that cares. Teachers that care will be more invested in helping you.
I recently sent a positive e-mail to each of my students' families. One family responded stating that their daughter told them "I know I will be okay when I am older because Ms. Kile is okay and she is just like me but older." I did not go into teaching for the recognition but to help build a better future. And that this student knows they will be okay as they grow older means the world to me. I know she will do great things!
