About Katelynn
I'm an experienced middle school and high school history teacher that has taught on-level, honors, and AP: Advanced Placement classes. I've taught both online and in person. I specialize in historical writing so if you need help with essays or document-based questions (DBQs) then you've come to the right place! I have a love for history that I hope to share with you!
I love tutoring because I love seeing my students learn. That "lightbulb" moment is worth everything to me!
All my life, I was told I should be a teacher. I fought it for a while but then finally decided to jump into it. I dove in headfirst and haven't look back! I absolutely love teaching and love my students!
I have an M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction, a Graduate Certificate in Educational Technology & Online Learning, and a Bachelor's Degree in History. I'm an experienced teacher and tutor ready to help you!

The first step is getting to know my new student. I like to take a little time to get to know them first as a person, then as a learner. Then I like to find out what their educational goals are. Are they here to work on something in particular? Are they here just to learn? I want to tailor each class to my learner so they can optimize their time with me.
I worked with all types of learners from total history buffs to history haters! I've also worked with an array of learning abilities and learning differences.
Find a teacher that is experienced with all learning levels so that they are well equipped to help you!
I love watching my students learn. Seeing the moment that my student grasps a new concept or conquers a goal is priceless!
