About Saffron

I am a middle school teacher, and have previously worked at a high school as well. I am currently not working as it is summer break, and would love to help with any tutoring needs that you have! I am ceritifed to teach social studies, and will soon be certified to teach math as well. I graduated from Willamette University in 2019 with a double major in Economics and Politics with a minor in communications, and am currently earning my masters in secondary education.

I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was in fourth grade so once I graduated with my bachelors degree I went straight to earning my masters in education while also teaching full-time and next year will be my second year doing that. I’ve always had a passion for teaching and wanting to educate both the youth and adults I believe that everyone is a lifelong learner and has a growth mindset.

I am currently earning my masters in education and I have a bachelor degree in economics and politics. I have been a teacher for one year now and I’m going into my second year teaching middle school math next year.

About the lesson

When working with a new student I like to get to know them and their learning styles first. I also like to understand what they’re having problems with specifically so I like to give like a pretest kind of review on the topic matter. I also enjoy getting to know students and making sure that they’re comfortable because it’s scientifically proven but if you’re in a comfortable environment you’re going to learn better. I think being able to detail out a plan with the student instead of just giving one that I made when it comes to learning process is also super helpful so I definitely tend to do that at first.

I have worked we are children of all ages. I have taught in a high school a middle school and elementary school. I worked full-time in high school also substituting for afterschool programs with middle schoolers and elementary schoolers. I have primarily worked in Indianapolis, However I also tutored highschoolers while I was in college in Oregon From 2015 to 2019.

I charge $15 an hour or we can do it on a weekly basis depending on the client I am pretty flexible and open for any conversation.
