About Solon

Hello,

My name is Sólon Daily, and I am from Los Angeles, CA. I have been playing guitar for over 17 years and have been producing music for over 10. I am currently a live audio engineer at the world famous Whisky a Go-Go. I am well advanced in music theory and have developed a curriculum that teaches the fundamentals of a guitar to learning chords, scales, modes, and more!

I can teach all levels from beginner to advanced. From basic chords and rhythm to advanced classical (or "shred" as I like to call it). I also just recently incorporated alternate picking, pinch harmonics, and more techniques to the curriculum.

I also think learning a song the full way through is a great way to practice especially when the song has a solo. By request, I can teach full songs as well for the same price. Any genre, any difficulty level.

Can't wait to start a new lesson with you!

I started teaching in Brasil at my cousins music school when I was about 13. From then on I took the job during summers and helped students by teaching them scales and modes. I started to develop my own curriculum once I started high school in America and I now have a solid foundation and knowledge for introducing a student to all types of guitar styles from beginner to advanced.

I come from a long blood-line of successful musicians. My grandfather on my mother's side is titled "King of Banjo" in Brasil and helped introduce American rock n roll to Brasil in the early 50s. My grandfather on my father's side was an incredible blues guitar player who played with many names. My father ended up taking the same skillset and mastering blues influenced rock soloing and rhythm which he eventually taught me. I took on the music surrounding me as a religion and have stayed that way to this day. I am currently working in Los Angeles as a producer for pop artists and a sound engineer at the Whisky a Go- Go.

I started playing guitar at the age of 7 and have been practicing ever since. I am now in a pop group and am still practicing every day! Practice makes perfect...it's really true!

I am highly advanced and will be introducing the student to basic/intermediate/advanced chords, scales, and modes

My ultimate goal is to get the student up and running and ready to rock whether they want to be playing simple songs or shredding. I can be a hand!

About the lesson

I like to get to learn my students on the first lesson and really understand what their musical background and goals are. This allows me to determine the style and structure of curriculum that I will ultimately introduce to the idividual client based on their needs and capabilities.
