I am a multi instrumentalist. I am super competent at guitar bass and drums (piano as well, and I put parentheses around this because my evil parents forced me to play piano..... freakin slave drivers) But yea I can play piano. The only time I use piano skills is when I need to instrumentally layer my recordings (using a mini akai sampler and keyboard.) I have NEVER had one guitar, bass or drum lesson. But am more competent on said instruments than those many who have. So if youd like to work with me we I will teach you how to create a composition the way I do it. My compositions originate in my head. Then I will hum what I am thinking and if I am not home when a musical idea is hatched in my brain I will hum it in my head until I get home where I can record (every instrument involved) my thoughts on my DAW. (Digital audio work station), which consists of a zoom R24 digital multitrack recorder and sampler then (although the zoom R24 is quite enough by itself for recording purposes) I also link the Zoom to my laptop where I can further tweak and equalize plus master my recordings using cubase. I promise you will be happy with what I can show you how to do and with very little. Anyhow, Glad to teach all you up and coming punk rockers!!!! Bring it!!!!!

What I really enjoy about music is really the influence and diversity of other's creations. I view intruments as extensions of our personalities and emotions. Because of this I love The straight up dissonance of punk. However the "punk" I write (don't worry) does not consist of a whole 3 chords. It is complicated. ESPECIALLY to play it and sing at the same time. If a potential student would like to hear what I mean by "complicated"? Have him/her check out The Dillinger Escape plan .1 example there. The way I am feeling at times? Could very well aid in creating music. I think as people there are many ways to communicate. Many languages..... for instance if I am angry or better yet overly passionate about a subject I can pick up my ESP (this guitar is basically a very fantastic weapon of choice for very heavy groove driven music) and communicate this emotion and it would be understood as such. What I really enjoy is producing other people's musical ideas/creations and giving input if asked for it. In fact being asked for my opinion completely flatters me. Music and its creation is really tantamount to therapy. And I hope that I can share that aspect of its importance and very essence with my student....

About the lesson

Depending on the instrument I work with a student so they can become confident playing in a way similar to whatever genre they are interested in. With vocals? This is a tough one to explain. Many singers or up and coming singers dont understand how to properly use their mic so as to make their voice (especially when recording) conform to their rhythm backing. Such a simple thing and it confounds me that a lot of singers are not aware of this. So yes mic skills? Important. Guitar: I will teach the student in a very unconventional way to become a fantastic rhythm guitar player (I really dont play "lead guitar" as I find it to be sometimes gratuitous. But I will still teach that if you like. Bass: no brainer. I will teach the student the same way I would teach guitar. Based on standard tuning. Guitar is E A D G B E while Bass is E A D G. Drums: I will 1st teach basic rudiments. Then we will move on to timing. I will teach you how to play cool beats on unconventional time signatures. In other words we wont be playing beats in 4/4 time signatures all the time. We will learn off time signatures quite a bit. Having an arsenal of and an understanding of these time signatures will ABSOLUTELY make you a better drummer. And as far as recording skills? I can teach you how to make the cheapest piece of junk 4=8 track recorder sing. So alllll that said, hit me up!
