About Travis

My service is small but personal. I only try to take on a few students at a time to specialize and really get to know what you want and need.

I enjoy seeing the progression in my students. I loving seeing a student whose never played before being able to play songs. Or watching students come to me and transform into a better musician.

I got started back when my cousin wanted to learn guitar around 4 years ago. I've had some students ever since and love doing it.

I have been teaching for 4 years.

I've been playing guitar for 10 years.

About the lesson

First I attempted to gauge where they are at in thier own playing. I determine if they are an absolute beginner or have had some experience.

We go from there and immediately go into having fun with the instrument while also learning as much as possible.

I've worked with kids as young as 9 to people in thier 60s. People who just wanted to learn how to play thier favorite songs to people whose strongest interest was to be the best guitar player they can be.

My strongest advice would be to find a teacher who can do exactly what you want to be able to do. And also to find one who doesnt waste time and who can keep you on a schedule. But for example, if you want to know how to play the blues and know a guitar teacher who is really good but doesnt play the blues well that isnt the one for you. You want someone who truly loves what you want to do. Not someone who can just learn the concept faster then you and teach it to you.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The number one question every student needs to ask themselves is what exactly do I want out of this? There are no wrong answers but its best to be true to yourself and to stay firm. Without knowing the answer to that question during your journey you might end up getting swayed in a complete different direction then you intended.
