About Steven
Hi,
My name is Steven Pivec, I dabbled with guitar starting at 12 or so and became very invested by 16. I am self taught, yet took Music Theory Classes at DVC as well as Production. I also can teach Mandolin, Banjo and roughly any instrument with Strings (besides the violin) . After breaking my leg at 19, my music went from basic, and over a period of 4 years was about only thing I could do physically. Since then I have been in multiple bands, know how to easily read
Tabulator and utilize simple Metronomes or Drum backing tracks, as this helps greatly improve staying in time, which many guitarists struggle to do, especially with string bands that i notably am known for. Knowing how to keep you BMP (Beats Per Minute) while playing along with others or playing on your own with backing tracks makes all the difference with EVERY style of Music you play. I’m known for both my Electric Guitar skills in traditional Metal, Rock and with Acoustic or Mandolin, Bluegrass. I am happy to work with all types of styles, age groups and even creative new styles of play. I’m extroverted and love talking with people, and am a great Leader in all my roles of Occupation. I can be very patient, hear what your goals as a musician to be and even just learning to have fun with impressing friends and family with your music talent. One thing I will emphasize is PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. Whatever materials we work on it is crucial for you to practice on your own time if you’d like to really learn the best you can and not have an awkward feeling holding your guitar at anytime. Happy to talk before any lessons to share my enthusiasm and discover what you want to accomplish.
