About Simon

We are a Christian, family-oriented entertainment business. We provide services in DJ'ing, Music Productions, Audio Installations, and Music Lessons.

Our goal in music lessons, is to teach our student(s) how to read music and tab sheets, as well as to find their style of playing, their style of music, and recording. We teach guitar, bass guitar, composing, and music production.

I have been playing guitar for over 10 years, and producing music for over 5 years. I started the guitar at New Covenant Church, shortly after moving to audio engineering when we needed assistance there at the church. I have been written down as the Assistant Producer to two live recordings, "Strength" and "All Eyes on You", both by New Covenant Worship. Currently the Music Producer for local Reggae Band, High Rise.

Teaching students to become better as I become better myself.

I simply started teaching guitar due to some of my friends that wanted to learn or have their kid learn the guitar.

I never had a formal education or a single specific teacher, to teach me music as I grew up. If any kind of education I had, I learn music theory in middle school, after that I learned on my own. From a young age, I have been involved in music and learning a variety of things that me to the music style that I love and enjoy today. I have learned theory and number systems from various music directors and worship pastors. I have also learned many things from live experience while performing on stage.

About the lesson

In our first meeting, we will mostly talk to find out what kind of music that we would love to learn, our reasoning to learn how to play an instrument, and both short-term and long-term goals that we want to reach.

In the past, I have worked with adults of the same age. I have also taught children between the ages of 10 and 12.

If you are looking to play the guitar, start with an Acoustic Guitar and then later on you can move to Electric Guitar. The reason behind this, is because the neck of an electric guitar is smaller than the neck of an acoustic guitar. If you were to start with an electric, more often than not, you would have to relearn the guitar when moving over to an acoustic guitar. The different sizes of neck changes how you wrap your hand around the neck of the guitar.

When looking for a teacher, look at what kind of music that the teacher plays or how they play. Is what or how he plays matching to what you want to learn?

Currently working with a local band as the music producer. They mainly perform in Reggae, but also touch R&B, Pop, and Hip Hop. I have traveled with the team to various locations for performances and provided services as the Sound Board Operator and Recording Producer. I have recorded multiple of their shows and editing them, so that I can provide the team with demo tapes to play around and show off to venues and fans what they can do.
