Shane is an awesome music instructor! He has taught me piano and guitar. He allowed me to pick my own music and inspired me to continue developing my skills. He also encouraged me to try other instruments.

I took guitar lessons with Shane for about 3 or so years and it was such a great experience. After trying many other places that gave lessons, the experience that I had with Shane really made it easy, fun, and enjoyable. I learned A TON while still getting to pick the style of music I like. I was able to explore different types of music and different artists that Shane introduced to me, some of which are among my favorites today. Choosing Shane at TriTone music was a great decision that made for a fantastic learning experience for me.

Shane is a fantastic teacher! Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and caring. He takes the time to really understand his students, and then does a great job of adjusting his lessons based on their needs and abilities. His lessons are informative and fun at the same time, a difficult balance to achieve. I feel consistently motivated and challenged thanks to his approach to teaching. I'm looking forward to working with him for a long time, and would highly recommend him to others without hesitation!

I wanted to arrange guitar lessons for my daughter as a Christmas present. The experience was great especially since we live hundreds of miles away from each other. I was a first time user of Thumbtack and I will definitely use it again.

He taught my 10yr old daughter piano. She enjoyed the lessons and always looked forward to attending. We asked Shane to prepare and focus her lessons on getting into a specialized arts middle and high school. This school lets in 13 kids each 6th grade year, and they have hundreds of applicants audition. Our child audition and was accepted. Near the audition time, Shane accommodated extra lessons, moved normal lesson times, and did whatever was necessary to ensure she got was she needed to audition. There is no doubt that without him, our daughter wouldn't have been accepted. He also accommodated teaching me guitar before my daughter's session time. I felt like I was able to play the guitar after our first lesson. Anyone looking for lessons would be extremely happy learning from Shane.

Shane is a great music teacher. Very profesional, and amazing working with kids. He encourages his students and manages to keep my 7 and 5 y/o focused and interested in the class in a very friendly and fun manner.

Shane has been an awesome guitar teacher for my 11 year old. My son thinks he is great and so do I. He is always so accommodating with my sons ever changing schedule and was especially amazing when he needed to switch to zoom lessons during Covid. It gave my son a sense of “normal life” while many of his friends were left without any extra-curricular activities. You rock, Shane! 🎸

Shane introduced our son to guitar through a local park district class. It was clear after 5 weeks that he had learned to love guitar. Shane followed up after class was over and offered one-on-one lessons. That fall we asked our son if he'd like lessons with Shane, and his answer was an emphatic "YES!!" Shane comes to our house once per week, and during COVID he has taken necessary safety precautions. During the first several lockdown weeks, he was effectively able to conduct weekly lessons via Zoom. Our son literally waits by the window on practice days waiting for Shane to show up. Shane makes guitar fun for kids, and he's able to communicate well and harvest their inner passion for music. We wouldn't want anyone else teaching our son.

Shane is everything we could have hoped for in a guitar teacher for my son. He is knowledgeable, flexible and very fun. My son looks forward to his classes with Shane very much.

Mr. Shane is the hands-down best music instructor! He gives my son piano lessons and they also work on music production. Shane is enthusiastic, professional, flexible, creative and connects really well with my child. He is fantastic at making the lessons fun and instructional. He teaches a variety of instruments, which I think we will end up exploring at some point! Highly, highly recommend Shane!

Highly recommended!!! Shane is a fantastic music teacher. He has taught both of my sons, ages 9 and 11, on drums and piano, over the last few years. He has excellent chemistry with both and is able to draw out their natural excitement for and curiosity about music. My guess is that most people are familiar with the types of music lessons that are force fed to kids like vegetables--it seems to be the reason that so many give up on trying to learn an instrument. Shane breaks that mold entirely, and our boys have always looked forward to their lessons and playing their instruments. Although I hope you're reading this review in better times, it's worth noting that my 11-year-old has been doing piano lessons with Shane over FaceTime for the last five months, and they have gone as smoothly and successfully as his in-person lessons.

Guitar Lessons

Shane is an excellent guitar teacher. I have been taking lesson with him since March and have very much enjoyed the experience. Very knowledgeable and flexible when it Comes to what I am interested in learning. Also very flexible with schedule especially considering the crazy times we are in. We had to adjust from in person to online lessons very quickly and it was a seem less transition. I would highly recommend anyone at any age to take lessons with Shane.

Our whole family has been working with Shane for a little over a year now. It has been a wonderful experience working with him and developing new skills on multiple musical instruments. Shane is adept at balancing music theory with learning the nuances of a song or music genre we're interested in. Currently, my kids are creating and playing music sets together with Shane's direction. This gives you some context on Shane's teaching talent and that his talent goes far beyond just playing a single instrument. He also has the patience of a saint as he is able to work with kids of all ages and of course is very competent with adults of all levels. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
