About Brendan

I have twelve years of experience on different styles of electric guitar like jazz, blues, rock, metal, and prog fusion. Played double bass for 4 years, and 7 years on electric bass. I can also teach classical nylon fingerpicking techniques and songs. Also I would take different approaches for teaching understanding of the guitar patterns, shapes, and chord progressions. We can take time to work on whatever style you like. Here is my YouTube channel to see what I play (concealed information)

I just enjoy playing and recording in general. I spend hours a day playing music and if I can help others during that time it would be more fulfilling.

By learning the techniques I was taught while I was taking lessons. I understand that it is a cycle and the more people who are taught leads to more people being taught. I chose not to charge much, because this information students can learn is everywhere they just need guidance on where to start and what to do.

I have taught several friends and family to play guitar and other instruments successfully with keeping their interest.

About the lesson

the first thing I would want to know is if they have had any experience with other instruments as to gauge their understanding of musical notes. This will speed up the process of understanding the connections between notes on the fretboard and not just knowing where they are, but eventually learning what they mean. After that I would learn the students musical interests to understand what type of chord will be used. For example we can spend time on chord charts and improvisation for jazz listeners or power chords and pentatonic for rock listeners. If they are interested in modern fusion guitar I could teach that as well, but simplifying chords and other techniques used.

I have taught people who have no musical experience, and I have taught people with plenty of musical experience who haven't gotten where they wanted to be on guitar.

I will teach you to best of my ability on chords, soloing, and playing like a pro. I can give you many resources and practice material on pdf format or guitar pro format, and will play along with you section by section until you feeling comfortable with it.

I see an uptick in the popularity of guitar on YouTube, Instagram and other platforms. I can directly see interest sparking in people who have never played guitar, but would love to have this excellent skill.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Firstly what their genre interest in guitar is. Also I would ask the question if they had unlimited guitar abilities and could play anything what would they do. I would steer them into that direction and play along with them.
