About Jeff

I taylor teaching to each student. teach practical methods with a big picture view on guitar playing. Understanding the fretboard and the importance of techniques, adopting position playing and modal playing, scale knowledge and its applicatoin to lead guitar and composition, chord construction, chord progression and its knowledge appled to lead and rhythm guitar, chord scales as an important tool for picturing the modes and scales and how they interconnect.

- 43 years of guitar playing lead and rhythm guitar for bands, church functions, live shows in many styles including classical, rock, blues, jazz, R&B, funk, hard rock, metal, and raggae.

- Experienced in studio and live performance.

- Degree in music production.

I have a degree in music production from IPR, and two years of music study at the University of River Falls Wisconsin. In addition to over 40 years experience playing guitar for live shows.

About the lesson

Develop an understanding of they're personal development goals and what they want to accomplish. Also an undestanding of learning styles and general assesment of skills to get a picture of what they are currently able to do. Sometimes peopel are very specific, other times they have a more general idea.

Young or old, experienced or new. I love to experience them learning and see that "ahh ha" moment when it all connects together.

I played at the St Paul Saints Game and several people stopped by and complimented my playing. It was power trio night so I booked a bass player and a drummer that had never played together before. We stepped up and the followed my lead ad I sang and played rhythm and lead guitar. Experienced professinal musicians both of them handled all of the music I threw at them and the people loved it. That made me feel real good inside and to top it off we were paid for the performance. Thatis one reason why I love to play, but the other is the pure joy I get from the perofrmance itself.

Three things are always important:

"Who am I?", "Where am I going?" and "How am I going to get there?". Better translated as the following

Why do I want to do this?

What do I want to accomplish?

How am I going to accomplish it?

A: "Because I really liked how everyone was getting into it."

A: "Cos the music was so moving it capture me..."

Q: Why was it so moving?

A: "It moved me so much it made me feel good inside and I would like to feel good inside and share that with others."

Details

My lesson fees are 1$ per minute plus any mileage for on location lessons 0.15 cents per mile. I give discounts for blocks of four.

I usually give only 30 minute lesson traveling 30 miles, so for example it would be $30 + $5.50 or $35.50.
