About Rebekah
I started teaching in my graduate program. From my first semester, I TA'ed in undergraduate anatomy courses and later transitioned to tutoring in our Anatomy & Physiology Tutoring Center. In my second year, I also got to assist in some graduate level anatomy courses, and finally taught an introductory human physiology course. These experiences gave me a unique standing with my students, as both a fellow student and an instructor.
I've completed coursework for a master's in human biology, which required me to take several courses related to human anatomy and physiology (at all levels) and other biological sciences. I also tutored in an Anatomy Tutoring Center and assisted in several undergrad and grad level anatomy courses. Not only do I have a strong background in anatomy and physiology, but I also understand the struggles of being introduced to these scientific concepts.

I recognize that each student has a different background and level of understanding of the material and therefore like to meet students where they're at. I find it helpful to ge to know the studnet a little - what they're studying, why they're taking this course, and whether they've taken classes in the subject before. From there, I can figure out how to best help each student learn the information in a way that works for them.
I've worked with all levels of undergraduate students, as well as first-year graduate students as a TA, tutor, and instructor. While many of the students I taught and tutored were in or planning to go into the medical/healthcare field, I also had several students with non-science backgrounds.
