About Victoria

I am a Political Science major at UConn, and I want to help others gain love for United States history and government. I have tutored in the past but not professionally, but I am knowledgable on the subjects listed and have taked APush as well as APGov. I was an honors student in high school and have fulfilled my college english/literacy requirements and therefore would also be capable in tutoring in English related topics as well as essay writing/editing.

I enjoy helping students find passion for US History and Government/Civics. I was not originally planning on being a Political Science student or going into this field at all, but after enjoying my APgov class I decided I wanted to be part of the systems I was learning about. I am also an excellent writer, being a liberal arts major you regardless need knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, and writing.

I am a current student working on my BA in Political Science, I also was an honors/AP student in high school.

About the lesson

When working with a student I will go over what they are learning at the moment and what parts of their grade it affects, then from there make a study plan for both together and independant work.

I have worked with children in elementary and middle school, as well as ninth and tenth grade although being a high school graduate I am willing to tutor older or younger.

I would advise students not be afraid to reach out for help in tough subjects. It is a lot more rewarding to enjoy a subject and pass than to brely get by because you were struggling.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think students should think about how a topic affects the overall class, is it a main unit or is it a piece of a chapter currently at hand. That will gauge if help is necessary and if so how much.

Standard US history, civics, or social studies topics charges $20/h

Advanced topics such as APush or APgov are $35/h

Essay editing $15 per essay and/or rounds of revision
