About Crystal

Hi, I'm Crystal and I am a former teacher with an undergraduate degree in English and a graduate degree in education. I was a teacher for two years and I have also homeschooled my daughter for the past seven years. I love that moment when a student really understands a concept, and I truly want to help my students have those aha moments. I am passionate about teaching grammar, language arts and reading. Feel free to contact me if you need help in any of those areas.

I decided to study education in college and I completed my student teaching and then began teaching in an elementary school right after graduating from college.

I have a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in Education. I also taught for two years.

I usually talk with the student to find out what they are having trouble with and then develop a plan based on the student's challenges.

As a teacher, I worked with student at a variety of ability levels and from a variety of different backgrounds.

I would say that it's important to think about what challenges you may be having but also believe that your skills can improve, no matter where you may have challenges.

My 11 year old daughter recently had me read a story that she wrote and I was very pleased with how far she has come with her writing thanks to our writing practice lessons.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I would suggest really thinking through where you feel most frustrated in a subject and think about how you can explain that clearly.
