About Helen
I am a private tutor who enjoys helping students improve. I also believe in putting in effort where both the student and teacher need to put in effort to truly achieve your goals.
I enjoy seeing students improve. Sometimes it might not seem or feel like improvement to the students but I see it. This improvement might not necessarily be an improvement in scores but it could also be an improvement in their understanding of the subject.
I have always enjoyed learning and have had tutors myself so I want to help others achieve their goals.
I have taken various AP courses, PSAT,
SAT, and SAT subject tests while in high school. I am currently an undergraduate student studying at New York University, working towards my bachelors degree in political science.
I have privately tutored before to students in a variety of age ranges and a variety of subjects. I have also tutored students for standardized tests such as the ISEE.

I have worked with elementary, middle, and high schoolers.
My advice would be to find someone who can help you improve but also one you are comfortable with. Every one has a different learning style but every teacher also has a different teaching style. I think it's important to remember that when you first start, there will be a learning curve as both student and teacher try to work together and find the middle ground between their learning/teaching styles.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
- How do you want to improve (meaning score wise, skill wise, etc)?
- What is your goal at the end of the day?
