About John

No two golf swings are alike. It is important to know "how", but more important to understand the "why". If one does not understand why and how, they will have a difficult time affecting any change in the patterns already established in their golf swing.

I teach you how to use your swing to correctly strike a golf ball through a better understanding of ball flight laws, swing arc, swing plane & path, and it's relationship to the face angle. Once you understand the proper adjustment needed for your swing you will be able to affect a change making you better at ball striking and not worse like many experience with swing changes and lessons.

I have always loved the game of golf and I enjoy growing the game as a PGA Professional. The oppportunity to meet people of such diversity and affect the lives of so many junior golfers over the years. One of the benefits of being at the same location, Murrieta Valley Golf Range, for so long I have had the opportunity to stay in touch with so many students over the years and develop some wonderful relationships. For example, watching Rickie grow up since he was about 10 and getting to hold the Ryder Cup last week was pretty special!

When I was a teen I had the privelge of helping the younger juniors while at Billy Casper's golf camp. Meeting Mr Casper was such a game changer for me. Then I got to learn from Jack Nicklaus when he was opening up Bear Creek and spending much time there. I tried to play the game but found that I was better at teaching it and I enjoyed helping people at their game and the intrinsic rewards associated with the whole thing. I was hooked as a teacher. It came easy because I didnt make it up. I was simply passing on what Billy, Jack and my PGA Pro Tim Haas taught me.

John is an unbelievable instructor and coach. We started to learn golf in our late 60's. We took lesson with the local community college first that taught us the grip. From there we tried other PGA and non teaching pros. Non of the really clicked for us. They just did not seem to understand old folks with some aches and pains don't move, bent or rotate as well.
Than we meet John at our local driving range in Murrieta, CA. He took a personal interest in us and adapted the sound PGA teaching pro's style to our physical abilities. I was amazed at the progress we made. I realized golf really was fun. We have been taking lessons from John now for 2 + years and continue to improve. We find him to be enthusiastic and passionate about golf and that is how he teaches. He is always positive and spot on with his coaching.

I am brand new to golf, and recently have picked up interest in learning how to play. My friend's son took lessons from John years ago when he was little, and I heard nothing but great things about him. I started lessons in September, and John made me feel at ease and confident in my ability from day one. He has taught me the basics so far, but everything I have learned has been so helpful.
