About John

I have been in the business for over 35 years giving instructions to all skill levels. The majority of my lessons are given private one on one or in smaller groups (friends etc). I believe that no golfer should be taught the same with the exception of the basics as each individual may have physical limitations which do not allow them to swing like a tour pro. Every lesson that I give will send you away with "homework" to practice on your own time in order to move you to the next level during your next lesson. For the advanced player that feels they are striking the ball well, however not scoring like they want to, I might recommend an on course playing lesson after we have analyzed their swing and discussed their goals. I was formerly a PGA Apprentice Head Professional for 16 years as Director of Golf at Ironwood Golf Club as well as Family Golf Center in Howell Michigan. Following that I spend the next 7 years as Teaching Professional at the Majestic at Lake Walden in Hartland Michigan. This past Fall (2016) I was re-hired back at Ironwood as GM, Director of Golf operations as well as co-owner/operator of Ironwood Indoor Golf (simulators) and Pro Shop owner at Ironwood. I have been a Wilson Staff Advisory Member for over 25 years as well as a club fitter. I was a Top 10 finisher in Pebble Beach World Pro-Am Series 2001 & 2003 and the All-Star World Pro-Am Kapalua 1996.
