About Sharm

Hello everyone,

I'm Teacher Sharm, your English teacher. I’m excited to be with you this year and eager to help you improve your English skills. I believe learning should be interactive and engaging, which is why I use digital tools and real-life examples to make our lessons interesting. My goal is to support each of you in achieving your best, whether it’s preparing for exams or developing your language skills. About the lesson

Hi, my name is Sharmila Suparmaniam @ Sharm. I focus on making learning interactive and engaging, using digital tools and multimedia resources to keep students interested. I prioritize understanding over memorization by incorporating real-life examples, critical thinking, and discussions into lessons. I also personalize the learning experience by identifying each student's strengths and weaknesses, allowing me to tailor my teaching to their needs.

For language learning, I emphasize the four main skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—while incorporating fun activities like role plays, debates, and collaborative projects. For exam preparation, I focus on targeted practice, guiding students through past papers and offering feedback to improve their performance.

My Qualifications and Experience as a Tutor:
As a 31-year-old educator with several years of teaching experience, I am currently an English teacher at Government School. I've taught at various institutions, including an International school and High schools. I also coach debate, which adds an extra layer of depth to my teaching, especially in critical thinking and communication skills. I constantly seek ways to enhance my teaching, including through online part-time tutoring for additional experience.

My Lessons For:
I primarily teach secondary school students (ages 13 to 17) in Form 1 - 5, preparing them for UASA, SPM and other English exams. My lessons are suited for intermediate to advanced English learners, but I am flexible and can adjust for younger students or those at lower proficiency levels.
