About Tamara
Bringing people joy through music motivates me during these uncertain times. Music is something that universally unites us and gives everyone the ability to bring out their creative side, their own unique personality, while building confidence and brain acuity.
I believe that music is for everyone and will work with you to realize your untapped potential. Teaching is my passion and I tailor my lessons to fit your schedule and goals.
I've been a flutist for over 2 decades. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Music and played in their Symphony Band, Wind Ensemble and Orchestra. There I studied with Eastman graduate and former West Point Band member Robert Goodberg. In addition, I've toured and recorded in Europe and played with the Milwaukee American Legion Band. My teaching experience includes teaching woodwinds and a brass as a traveling music teacher for Milwaukee Public Schools as well as teaching private flute lessons for 3 Milwaukee area music stores and my own private studio. I've taught students as young as 10, all the way up to adults who decide to take up their instrument again later in life or for the very first time.

What I enjoy about teaching is seeing the joy and sense of accomplishment that music brings to my students. Music can be a bright light for a child or adult, their niche, that thing that sets them apart, gives them pride and something positive to progress toward.

Initially I like to find out what the student wants to accomplish and what they would like to see in a teacher. After that we'll work on coming up with a plan to achieve those goals and outcomes.
I've taught students as young as 10, all the way up to adults who decide to take up their instrument again later in life or for the very first time.
Everyone is different, look for someone that you admire their background, but most of all gel with their teaching style and personality!
