About Cang

We teach a specialized form of fencing using a "lightsaber". It is a unique and independently developed sport and martial art.

I enjoy pioneering a new martial art/fencing form and introducing it to people. They get to be the first in something new.

Since I created this weapon form myself there was no one to teach it but me. So I had to do it myself.

I created the sport and martial art of Lightspeed Saber fencing to showcase the realistic usage of a "lightsaber" or plasma sword. It was developed with influences from my experiences in CrossFit, rock climbing, martial arts, and, of course, traditional sport fencing.

About the lesson

New students usually show up 20 minutes early for their first class so they can get caught up with the rest of the class. Each class is usually split into a beginner and advanced group to make sure all students are appropriately challenged.

I specialize in working with adults but have since branched into working with young adults and teens, including some with developmental disabilities. I have worked with those with prior fencing training and those without.

One of our boys remarked that the exercises he did with his regular school were boring compared to ours. We pride ourselves on our challenging High Intensity Interval Training type workouts.
