About Felicia

Everyone can write well with the proper training. I personalize my approaach for each student to help them realize their potential as writers. In our sessions, students will build long-lasting skills in brainstorming, drafting, editing, and refining their work.

I love watching students become empowered to express themselves and their ideas.

I began as a peer writing tutor in the humanities to first-year college students at Stanford University. I worked 1-on-1 with students on research essays and literary analyses. I later became a residential writing tutor, where I served 90 students with asynchronous writing / editing assistance and live group and 1-on-1 writing tutoring.

I have 4-year combined experience in writing and editing.

I hold a BA with Honors from Stanford University in Russian Literature, where I mastered essay writing and research. At Stanford, I wrote a prize-winning honors thesis, receiving the grade of A+, and I was a peer writing tutor in the humanities for two years.

I later became the leader of a team of scientific writers. I regularly edited their articles and mentored them in writing, as well as publishing my own work.

Most recently, I was a Research and Editing Fellow at an educational institution, where I helped an accomplished lawyer and teacher write and edit a full-length book that was accepted by a major publisher.

About the lesson

1) I learn about the student's goals for our sessions and how quickly they need to produce their written work.

2) I learn about their availability and whether they wish to have asynchronous or live video chat instruction. Then together, we set a schedule for our meetings and define progress goals for each metting.

3) The student and I work together in our meetings to produce their written work. After each session, I send the students notes and reminders of their goals for the next session.

4) I provide final feedback on the student's final work and leave them with tips for improving their writing even more in the future.

I have worked with college students and recent graduates. I've also worked with high schoolers applying to college, as well as with accomplished professionals.

- Grammar / Style / Structure: $6 / 250 words

2. Live video chat tutoring:

- $25 / hour

3. Live group video chat sessions:

- $15/hr per person
