About Anna
After graduating college I traveled to China to teach English as a Second Language for about 2 years after obtaining my TEFL certification. My students ranged from from 3-18 years old. In addition, I tutored Chinese students outside of classes while I lived abroad. Back in the States I have tutored adults who want to learn English as a second language through speaking, reading, and listening.
I understand first hand what it is like to teach English learners that come from all stages of life. I tailor my teaching style to the student and their learning style. I look forward to meeting with you and discussing how we can learn together!
I enjoy working with students to accomplish their goals and building relationships along the way!
I have a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification.

I like to get to know the student first, understand their interests and hobbies outside of learning English. I then like to understand what their primary goal is. Is is to improve their conversational English? Is it to write a paper or essay? Do they want to focus more on reading?
Depending on what their answer is I will recommend some materials that we can use to aid the learning process and suggest a plan moving forward.
I have worked with students from as young as 3 years old to adults.
Make sure to find a teacher that works well with you and your learning style. If the teacher is willing to adapt to how you learn best it will allow you to grow and be successful at your pace.
