About Meghan

The transition to online school as a result of COVID-19 has left many students and their parents feeling overwhelmed. I can help lighten the load by providing academic support and advising.

I have worked off and on as a tutor for over five years with K-12 students, undergraduate students, and students with learning/developmental disabilities. I achieved my B.S. in Psychology at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in three years and am currently completing my M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Chapman University.

My combination of hands-on experience as a tutor and counseling education has prepared me to guide students through elementary through high school assignments, college essay writing, time management/organization, and even fun activities like art and baking.

I really enjoy the time I spend tutoring students. I have always been an excited and dedicated student myself, and it brings me joy to help students to access their love for learning. I also feel proud when a student I work with is able to learn a new skill, receive a high grade on an assignment, or see their hard work come to fruition on an exam.

As a high school student, I started working for a family in my neighborhood. Since then, I have tutored a variety of students I have come into contact with through personal private academic tutoring and my work as an ABA therapist.

About the lesson

I offer a consultation session to meet with a student and their parents. During this session, we will discuss the student's tutoring needs. We will also set goals and develop a tutoring plan.

It is important to find a teacher that you connect with. You should feel comfortable, listened to, and understood by your teacher. You should feel like your teacher is a member of your support team for achieving your full potential!

I recently spent time in a park with two students I used to tutor. I got to play with them and hear about all the things they have done since I last saw them.
