About Kay
I enjoy meeting and working with children and families and have professional experience doing both.
I love unlocking strategies that help students to not only become better readers, but to discover they can actually enjoy reading. I am certified in my state for grades K-6. I have been a teacher for 12+ years which includes 3 years in a special education setting for students who are emotionaly and behaviorally challenged.
I have a bachelor's degree in education and 15 post-graduate credits in special education and 9 post-graduate credits in early childhood education. I have 12+ years of professional experience as a teacher in public and private school settings.

Our initial session will center around getting acquainted, ensuring technical applications run smoothly, and reviewing my rules for etiquette and expectations for participation and effort. Next, I will do an brief assessment to get a snapshot of your child's current level of perfomance. I will also request any standardized test score information you may have From this point, I will provide activities to support skills development. I will provide weekly updates on your child's progress.
