About Jonathan

I am a credentialed elementary teacher with a combined 7 years of experience tutoring, teaching, and working as an instructional aide with students from kindergarten to 12th grade. I've worked with many diverse students in Orange County, CA, both in public school settings and as a private tutor. I will work with you to determine your tutoring needs and learning style.

Currently, I am only providing online tutoring. All sessions are held over Zoom, and parents/guardians are welcome to join at any time to discuss learning plans and progress. My current availability is on Monday-Friday, from 8 AM to 2PM.

I enjoy working one-on-one to help students gain confidence and new skills. I love the chance to make a difference and help them succeed!

I began my teaching career as a tutor for elementary students, working with struggling readers to develop their skills and passion for reading.

I have a BA in History from Chapman University (and a music minor), a Multiple Subject (Elementary) teaching credential, and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University Irvine.

I have 7 years combined experience as a classroom teacher, tutor, instructional aide, and substitute.

About the lesson

I start by talking to the student about their interests and needs, to get to know them not only as a student but also as a person. I tailor my tutoring to the student's interests and favorite ways to learn, and adjust my methods to best meet the student's needs.

I've worked with students from kindergarten to 12th grade, in public school and private tutoring settings, and in both general and special education.

Find someone who works to understand who you are as a person as much as what you need as a student.
