About Catherine

Hi, my name is Catherine Yoon and I am a graduate of Skidmore College! I majored in English, double minoring in Media and Film, and Art.

I currently work for One River School as an Education Coordinator and Digital Educator. I have taught and tutored at numerous places including Skidmore College, Camp Imagineerz, Camp CuriOdyssey, along with private lessons. I have also babysat and nannied since I was 14, and have three younger siblings of my own.

I enjoy the students the most. Getting to help and work with children is so enjoyable. Seeing finished work, and helping them achieve the best outcome is above the proudest feeling in the world.

I got started teaching at the age of 12. Besides helping my sibling with their homework, I got hired as a Leader in Training at Camp CuriOdyssey up in San Mateo, California.

I graduated Pinewood High School in 2017, and am currently attending Skidmore College. There I am a Peer Tutor, and help English Second Language students practice!

About the lesson

The first session will typically be more of a "icebreaker" session. I will ask your child about themselves, along with how they feel like the best they learn, and how they would like to learn.

I will also consult you, the parent, to see what you would like accomplished as well as what the goals are of the student. Depending on how structured you would like the sessions, I will make an agenda of how you would like to go about things.

I have mostly worked with students ranging from 5-13.
