About Maren
I am a upperclassman college student studying education and love working with young kids on learning! My teaching philosophy is that every student learns differnt. Whatever your child's needs are for learning, I will be sure to meet those!
I enjoy getting to know my students and helping them to succeed in their learning. My favorite part is watching the student grow over time and conquer their learning challenges along the way.
From a young age, I have always loved working with kids and coming up with creative ways to help them learn. I started beginning my teaching career by teaching at a kid's summer camp and then becoming a toddler teacher at a daycare. Later on, I volunteered as a teacher's aide for second grader in my first year of college and then tutored an 8 year old over the summer.
I have helped homeschool my younger siblings growing up, took some education classes at college, tutored in a classroom of second graders for a semester, and tutored an 8 year old over the summer.

The process starts out with a call with both the parent and the child. From there, I will get to know the child, what they need help in, what their learning goals are, and what learning preferences they have. After the first call, I will draw up a tutor plan on how to meet the child's goals and began on the second session.
I have worked with kids from ages 2-13. I have worked with gifted children, kids on the spectrum, and kids with ADHD. I can cater to kids of all different learning needs.
