About Amber
I'm a full-time middle school English teacher who is looking to help students between the ages of 7 to 18 improve their writing, reading, and speaking capabilities. I am a patient, kind teacher, and I would love to help students at any level prepare for college, write better essays, or increase reading comprehension and ability over summer break.
I love teaching because it allows me to work with young people who need help and guidance in order to be successful. After working 5 years in some of the best middle school English departments in the state, I have learned many skills and strategies to help students realize their potential and achieve their goals.
I have a Bachelor's degree in English Teaching from BYU, and I have worked as a classroom teacher for 5 years. I'm also currently earning a Master's degree from the University of Utah in Reading and Literacy.

When first meeting a student, it is important to assess their current knowledge, and create goals so that we have a clear picture of where the student wants to be. Then, we would create a step by step plan to help the student achieve their goals. It's also important to understand each students likes, dislikes, and passions, so that they have the opportunity to learn about subjects that interest them.
