About Glennda

Experienced and Innovative HS English Teacher Demystifies English

Hello! My name is Glennda Bayron and I have been teaching English to high school students for the past 8 years. I have taught all levels including GT and Pre-AP/AP. I have also created an AP Seminar course. Currently, I am in Grad School at Arizona State University and will graduate in December 2021 with a MA in English.

I almost fell in to teaching. I didn't think I would teach, but my job while I was in college revolved around teaching and I fell in love with it. It feels as though it is something I was born to do.

I have over 500 hours in training in my field.

Additionally, I have a Bachelor's in English from The University of Texas at Arlington and am earning my Master's in English from Arizona State University.

About the lesson

When working with a new student, I like to get to know that student and how they operate. Since English is a bit more fluid than other subjects it is important to know this so that their learning style is directly targeted. Then, I offer different processes and have the students try out those processes to understand/complete the work. If those processes don't work, we move on to the next one until we find one that works for each student.

I have worked with all students including: struggling students, GT students, Pre-AP/AP students, and college Freshmen.

First, I would look at their experience and see if that is up to par. Then, I would schedule a quick interview to see if this tutor matches my needs. If all of this aligns, I would sign up with that tutor and keep them forever because they truly understand you as a student.
