About Kat
With five years of experience under my belt as a private English tutor, I am well-equipped to handle any issue your student might have! I promise, I've seen it before.
I enjoy working with students who are motivated to become better writers, better readers and better students in general. Seeing their progress not only brings me joy, but helps me to understand how education shapes the way students perceive the world around them.
I graduated cum laude from NC State University with a BA in English. I am currently a grad student and teaching assistant at NC State University seeking my Master's in English. I have five years of private tutoring experience for students ages 11-19.

Kat helped me understand by teaching the way I learn. Since I learn through writing and repetition, but I like working independently, she would often guid me in what I needed to do then let me try it on my own and ask if I needed any help. She also gave me more agency in writing things as my skills progressed, at the beginning I could barely form a sentence without needing help but by the end I’d be able to write paragraphs before needing to review with her. Overall she is a wonderful tutor.

Details
If I am traveling to a student for a one-hour session, my base rate is $40/h. If the student is traveling to me, the hourly rate is deducted by $5/h. Therefore, if I am traveling to a student for a 90 min session, I would charge $60. If a student was traveling to me for a 90 min session, the rate would be $52.50.
