About Michelle

I'm currently an English tutor at QCC and work with students with disabilites. Now, I want to branch out and work with students of all ages and with or without disbailites. I'm incredibly patient and love building relationships with my students. I've been very successful in helping students pass their classes and become better writers. I'm able to work online and can provide in person sevices at my residence.

I enjoy working with different age groups and meeting new people. I know students do not always feel confident about asking their teachers for help and I hope students feel better working one-on-one with me.

I've always worked well with others and try to offer as much support as I can. I realized students continuously requested to work with me and thought I should pursue this more.

I have an Associates degree in Science and currently are working towards a dual bachelors.

About the lesson

My typically process is to learn more about my student. I like to know what their struggles and needs are during a lesson. Every student is different and it is so important to have open communication. Some students need things to be repeated, need quiet time to write, and should feel comfortable asking for that.

I have experience tutoring elementary school and middle school children. I'm able to work with all ages, which I love because it keeps my job interesting. Also, I was a teacher's assistant in my senior year of highschool and worked with the younger highschoolers. As I mentioned before, I currently tutor college students in all English courses.

My best advice is to give it try! Tutoring takes time and requires the student to be patient with themselves and confident.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should think about asking questions that will help them get the most feedback from the teacher or ask questions that clearly shows you are confused about something. Not being honest to teachers and tutors only hurts the student!
