About Susan
I love to help others with their writing and language skills, from teaching little ones to read and write to assisting adults with English as a second language. My goal is to help each one to grow through listening and reading and to communicate through speaking and writing.
After teaching kindergarten two years and subbing on all grade levels at a Christian school, I homeschooled nine of our ten children for eighteen years. During this time I started writing clubs for my children and their friends, and after the youngest graduated in 2008, I became certified by the Institute for Excellence in Writing and started classes for homeschooled students in my home and in the homes of my students. I have also held Saturday and after school classes for conventionally schooled students. For several years I also worked as an aide for children with multiple disabilities in the public school system. I started working with ESL adult students about this same time, and continue to this day.
I personally enjoy writing, and have written verse for greeting cards, magazine and newspaper articles, short dramas, homeschool curriculum, and copy for websites. I work hard to instill this love for writing in my students.
