About Haley

I have been tutoring students since the beginning of my junior year in high school. I have already completed my Associate's degree and have taught young students in a school type setting over summers, so I am well qualified to tutor any age group. I specialize in English, math, biology, and sign language, but am comfortable teaching any school subject!

I have always loved kids, and it is my goal one day to become a college biology professor. I spend my summers teaching children from the ages of 5-12 in a classroom setting, to ensure they are ready for the upcoming school year and do not forget past materials. I have also been tutoring kids ages 10-15 outside of school for a few years now.

I graduated high school while doing Running Start (a program to allow high schoolers to attend college) and completed my Associate's degree before graduating. I am currently attending Washington State University to further my education and complete a Bachelors in Biology and Zoology.

About the lesson

When I gain a new student I always start off by seeing where they are at in their studies and finding areas that would be beneficial for them to improve on.

I have worked with students from the ages of 5 to 15, and for almost every subject there is!

Make sure to find a teacher you feel comfortable with! Finding someone who teaches in the style you learn is also key!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It's always really helpful when a student knows what areas they need improvement in. For example, If a student tells me they need help in math I ask them what they know and are confident doing, and what exactly they are struggling with. Then we can come up with a game plan to make sure we cover the material the student is struggling with, and use our tutoring time wisely.

Details

I typically charge by the lesson, but can also charge by the hour for students that have less flexible schedules and need more varying and inconsistent lessons. I charge a flat rate of 15-20$ per lesson, which can last anywhere from 30-90 minutes depending on the needs of the student, and charge 20-25$ per hour for students needing more unpredictable tutoring schedule.
