About Aisha

I am a professional tutor who holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Miami. I specialize in math and English for elementary and middle-school students, as well as writing for all levels (elementary through college). I have experience working with students who have learning challenges and have the patience and skills to get students excited about learning and focused on their assignment.

I love getting to help students reach the goals they have for themselves and help them feel confident and empowered in school. Getting to be a part of a student's journey and see how far they come from when I first started working with them is very rewarding.

I have seven years of experience in English and writing, and worked a professional journalist for two years. I attended the University of Miami, where I graduted with a Bachelor of Science in Communication and completed several courses in English and creative writing. I have worked for three years with elementary and middle school students in English, math, and writing, and an additional year with high school and college students in writing (college essays, editing, grammar, etc.).

About the lesson

I will sit with a student or his/her guardians and discuss their challenges and goals. Once I am aware of how a student is currently performing and school and know what they want to accomplish, I will tailor a tutoring program which can include homework help, test prep, and fun learning games such as flashcards and other interesting learning tools that help keep students focused. After each session, I will follow up and see if grades and test scores are improving to see how we canfurther tailor the program for a student's success.
