About Amanda

I started this business to help children reach their full potential. Teachers today try their best to reach every student in their classroom but sometimes a child needs a little extra help. I believe that asking for help is the first step towards improvement. My mission is to help students achieve their academic goals and move past the frustration of not understanding their schoolwork. I am currently in a junior Elementary Education major. I have tutored throughout high school and into college. I am also in the process of getting my Reading Specialist certification. I have worked with several students to help them improve their reading and spelling abilities. I would love to help you become confident in yourself and your ability to succeed in your education.

Ever since I was a child, I wanted to be a teacher. I had a teacher that connected with me and showed me the power of education. Ever since then I have wanted to share that gift with others. I am going to school to be a teacher and am getting certified as a reading specialist. I have been tutoring for several years now and I really love it.

I am going to college to be an elementary school teacher. I am also in the process of getting my reading specialist certification.

About the lesson

When I begin working with a student my first goal is getting to know you. Effective tutoring is personal and created to suit your specific needs. During the first session, I will talk with you and find out what your goals are and how you want to improve. Then I will work with you to find exactly what you need to work on to improve. From there I will customize a plan for you that will get you up to speed and back on track.

I have worked with a wide variety of students. I have tutored children with reading struggle and elementary and middle school students in grammar, writing, math, science, and history. I have also tutored high school students in grammar and writing.

Pick someone that you can connect with. If you do not feel comfortable with your tutor you will not be able to make the progress you are desiring to make.

The other day in a tutoring session. My student made a long-awaited breakthrough in his reading.
