I am a passionate and enthusiastic educator with 10+ years of experience in a variety of school settings. I have experience with both general education and special education in New York and Connecticut.
My education and certifications:
-B.A. from Colgate University, 2007, English Major
-M.A. from Teachers College (Columbia University,) 2010, Teaching of English
-New York State teaching certification
-Connecticut teaching certification
-Orton-Gillingham certification
I love teaching because I can support students in building the confidence they need to not only help them be successful in school but in all areas of their lives.

I first get to know the student's interests and build trust with a student so that there is a foundation to work from. From there I aim to understand how the student learns and what the student needs, so that those needs can be met effectively and efficiently during tutoring sessions.
I have worked not only with general education students but also students with the following challenges: ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, and other learning differences.
