About Evan

English is a complicated subject and can be difficult to learn let alone master. I love helping students learn and help them get to that "light bulb" moment when it all comes together. I have a bachelor's in English as well as in Secondary Education from Tabor College. I have taught abroad in Honduras helping students from 6-12th grade learn and master English. I will work 1-1 with you until you feel you are comfortable with the material. I love all aspects of English and cannot wait to help you love them as well.

I have always wanted to be a teacher, throughout high school I helped friends and classmates with English and that continued into college. While in college I had multiple placements in high and middle schools and loved working with students and helping them realize they can understand English and that it can be fun as well. After graduating I moved down and taught in a private school in Honduras teaching students English. While down there I learned techniques to help students learn English in an easy to understand way, techniques that I want to apply to help students all over better understand English.

I have taught abroad in Honduras as I have a degree in Education and a degree in Engish.

About the lesson

We will set up a time either via email or phone and during that process I will ask what the student will need tutoring on specifically so I can better prepare for our session. We will set up a time and date for the session to happen. During the first few minutes, I will ask more specific questions about what the student wants to get out of tutoring, we will go into the tutoring session.

I have worked with all levels of students from 6th grade up through advanced 12th grade English, from English Langauge Learners through Native Speaker.

Don't give up English is a hard subject to understand, keep reading keep writing, and don't be afraid to try.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What am I struggling with? What about it confuses me? How can I think about this problem differently?
