About Carey
As an experienced and certified teacher, I have encountered students with a wide range of abilities. I am a creative problem-solver and will do everything I can to help your child meet their tutoring goals.
I enjoy the spark I see in a child's eyes when they overcome a challenge or find they can do things they couldn't before.
Kids love to learn! Just like adults, they want to know their work is important. And to keep kids motivated, I believe learning experiences can and should be FUN!

Building a strong, positive relationship with both student and parents is essential to student success.
I begin with an in-depth conversation with parents and student regarding the goals for tutoring and the strength, struggles, and interest of the student.
Second, a scientifically supported skills assessment is administered.
Lastly, if needed, I can communicate with teachers and other educational professionals involved with the student (either indpendently or through the parents) to gain a more complete picture of the students needs and work habits in order to launch a successful effort towards helping the student reach their goals.
